Pergola is the online literary magazine curated by students in the Low-Residency MFA in Creative Writing at Hood College. Our magazine is a digital gathering place where anyone can connect over the varied and dynamic landscape of contemporary literature. Rooted in the beloved campus tradition of gathering under the Pergola on Hood's campus—a place where paths converge and writers sit inspired by dappled sunlight through wisteria petals—our magazine aspires to cultivate a literary community that honors the power of our shared human stories. We are particularly interested in showcasing the work of historically underrepresented voices, including women writers, writers of color, queer and trans writers, and writers with disabilities.
